    DESCRIPTION

    Pectin (extracted from apple) is an indigestible soluble fiber. Pectin is a regulator of the intestinal tract with all the benefits it brings for a good and healthy intestinal function. Hence the englisch proverb: “an apple a day keeps you away from doctor”.

    Researchers at the University of California have discovered that pectin extracted from the peel of the apple, acts as an antioxidant against cholesterol in the bloodstream and conclude that people who eat a lot of fat animals should take pectin.

    It attaches to the bile salts and helps to decrease cholesterol, also inhibits fat absorption.

    Pectin is a useful in diets.

    Japanese scientists claim that pectin reduces the chances of getting colon cancer for its action to aid in cleansing the intestinal tract, it is also indicated in cases of ulcer or colitis. There is also evidence that pectin helps in diabetic disease.

    Pectin is a prebiotic that helps maintain a healthy intestinal flora by supporting the multiplication of probiotic bacteria (Acidophilus / Bifidus).
