DESCRIPTION

Bioactive Quercetin EMIQ contains Isoquercitrin. Enzymatically-modified isoquercitrin (EMIQ) is a highly bioavailable form of quercetin, a bioflavonoid that has significant anti-allergic effects and helps with immune function. EMIQ or enzymatically modified isoquercitrin is prepared using a natural enzymatic process that attaches polysaccharides to convert quercetin, which has poor bioavailability, into a water-soluble form (Alpha-Glycosyl Isoquercitrin). EMIQ offers the benefits of quercetin with higher absorption and superior bioavailability. According to pharmacokinetic data, the absorption of EMIQ is up to 40 times higher (C max) than that of quercetin and reaches maximum levels in the bloodstream in just 15 minutes.

Quercetin is an essential flavonoid that forms the “backbone” of many other flavonoids including citrus flavonoids, rutin, hesperidin, narigin and tangeritin. Quercetin is the most active of the flavonoids and many of the herbs are due to the properties of Quercetin.

Quercetin has strong anti-inflammatory properties by inhibiting the initial inflammatory processes. Inhibits the production and release of histamine and other allergic / inflammatory mediators. That is why it is used with good results in the treatment of Arthritis, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Osteoarthritis. In addition, Quercetin has antioxidant and protective effects of Vitamin C. Quercetin also has remarkable anti-tumor properties especially for skin and prostate cancers.

Quercetin may have positive effects in combating and preventing Cancer, Prostatitis, Heart Disease, Cataracts, Allergies and Respiratory Diseases such as Bronchitis and Asthma. Due to its anti-allergic character, it is an adjunct in the treatment of allergic sinusitis.

Isoquercitrin has been used in clinical trials studying the treatment of Kidney Cancer, Renal cell carcinoma, Advanced Renal Cell Carcinoma, Thromboembolism of Vein in Pancreatic Cancer, and Thromboembolism of Vein VTE in Colorectal Cancer, among others. It exhibits antineoplastic activity and has been found to decrease the rate of polymerization and sickling of red blood cells. It has a role as an antineoplastic agent, a plant metabolite, a bone density conservation agent, an osteogenesis regulator, an antioxidant, a histamine antagonist and an antipruritic drug. (Ref. 1)

By preventing the polymerization of red blood cells, EMIQ Isoquercitrin, it can be useful in viral infections that affect blood oxygenation.

Isoquercitrin is capable of inhibiting influenza virus replication and can be associated with antiviral drugs. (Ref. 2).

Isoquercitrin has been found to lead to death of Candida albicans (Ref. 3)

Isoquercitrin offers hepatoprotection against type 2 diabetes-induced hepatic injury (Ref. 4)

Isoquercitrin acta as an antihistaminic in the treatment of allergies (Ref. 5)

Conclusion

Isoquercitrin is much more bioactive that Quercetin and it shows a higher spectrum of therapeutic activity.
